I have attached a copy of my latest newsletter. Please let me know if you got it earlier or if this is the first that you have seen of it. My laptop got baptized which did not do wonders for the key board but fortunately I had just bought a netbook for traveling so am able to just use that. In the process, addresses have not been completely straightened out which is all to say that I want to make sure that you are on the list that automatically gets the newsletter. As for prayer requests… in the next month there will be 3 women’s assemblies that I know would appreciate your prayers. The Uniting Presbyterian Church of Southern Africa Zimbabwe Presbytery women (including election of new leadership) and the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian Harare Synod women will be meeting from the 27-30th of this month. The women of the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar (FJKM) will be celebrating their 40th anniversary the 16th -19th of next month. That will be a huge gathering of over 3,000 and perhaps close to 4,000 women! I will be speaking at the second and the third events which means that I will be off to Zimbabwe next week and then to Madagascar in the middle of September. I may make a trip down to Lesotho in early September as well. AS for a personal prayer request, my father, who is in his mid 80’s, is going to be traveling around the world by himself the end of September and early October. First, he will visit Chiang Mai, Thailand where he an my mother served as Presbyterian missionaries for almost 40 years. (Mom is not up to making the trip.) Then he will come to Africa to visit me. While here we will go to Zambia to visit with folks there and see what the church is doing. Please pray for traveling mercies, for strength and everything else that will make his trip smooth and complications free! Finally, please let me know what you are up to and how I can pray for you and your congregation. A month or so ago I emailed you and wrote that I would be in touch periodically. The four of you represent our congregations first serious sponsorship of missionaries. I'd like to be sure we communicate regularly so that the interest of our congregation in your work remains high. To that point I would appreciate it if you respond to this email with a list of those things you would like our church to be praying for on your behalf. Any periodic updates you'd like to provide would also be welcome. Thanks very much. Bruce
