Plan a Fall Trip to the Eastern Shore

Our Fall trip will be on Wednesday, October 20, 2010. The trip will include a visit to the Barrier Islands Center filled with a collection of artifacts related to island life and history of the islands and their people. Lunch will be at the Island House Restaurant in Wachapreague on the waterfront. Our guide will give us a history of the town. The group will also visit the Turner Sculpture for a guided tour featuring the pouring of brass process. If you are interested in going, please contact the church office. A check for $41.00 will be required by August 31st to save you a place. Friends are invited and their cost will be $66.00.

Volunteers Needed for Bethlehem Walk

Volunteers are needed for the Bethlehem Walk as the committee begins its planning for this traditional Christmas event. Leaders to are needed to organize the teams of actors, costume makers, entertainers, kitchen help, parking lot staff and ticket and greeters.
Bethlehem Walk is scheduled for Friday, December 3 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm; Saturday December 4 from 4:00 to 8:30 pm; and Sunday, December 5 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Mission Accomplished: A Very Successful VBS!
Many thanks to all who helped to make our Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School such a wonderful event!

Rally Day "Round Up"Sunday, September 12th:
Plans are underway for Rally Day. This year it will include a "scavenger hunt," a continental breakfast, and the introduction of new classes and teacher. What the front page of this website for details beginning next week.

New Arrivals in the Library:
The are may new books and DVS's in the church library. Beginning in September, a few of them will be highlighted each month.

Book Club:
The Book Club is meeting on Tuesday, August 24 at 5:30 pm to discuss the book "The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls. We invite all to join us for pizza & intriguing discussion about this memoir of a young girl grow up in a dysfunctional family. The books are available at Barnes & Noble. Our September Book Club selection is "Sam Kind of Different as Me" by Ron all, Denver Moore & Lynn Vincent. Happy Reading.
